How to bring your AstroBrand Style into a Photoshoot
In my last blog I talked about the colours for your AstroBrand but how do you bring this together into a Brand Photoshoot?
Find a stylish blank canvas in line with your AstroBrand
For my recent Brand Photoshoot that I had with Eyes of Love Photography, I hired a beautiful house - Shoot Location Burleigh.
This location is great because the decor is stylish but neutral, there is lots of gorgeous greenery and beautiful light and it really is a beautiful blank canvas to add your AstroBrand style to.
However, this type of location might not be right for you - for example, if you have a strong Gemini or Aquarius brand you might want to select something a bit more modern and colourful. For a dominant Cancer or Pisces brand, the beach might be more appropriate. For an Aries brand - bold colours might be the go or for a Scorpio brand a dark, moody bar might make more sense!
Try to showcase all the elements of your AstroBrand

One of the things I loved about the location I picked was some of the furniture and elements that had an eclectic, boho and worldly vibe - something which I really wanted to bring into my rebrand for KathrynHocking.com in order to showcase my Sagittarius Sun essence. In this no international travel world this will have to do - eventually I’d love to do a photshoot overseas!
My previous photoshoots have brought through my Virgo essence - simple and classic styling as well as my Cancer Moon more through my energy in the photoshoot that is nurturing and welcoming.
Interestingly the photos that I feel have the strongest Cancer vibe are not my favorite photos - I think because I set the intention for my Sagittarian Sun to be the strongest archetype element in the shoot.
I bring my Pisces Soul Client energy through with my additional touches of jewelry, books, oracle cards, and oils that bring a soulful edge to the photoshoot.
Take photos in multiple outfits
In three hours we managed to capture 8 outfit combinations, some were simply swapping out jewellery or changing the jeans but they allowed me to try a number of different styles.
In the end there were a couple of outfits that don’t feel quite me - some felt slightly too “prissy” for my true style and one of the dresses I didn’t like in the photos (just being hard on myself!) - but this is the thing - if you have multiple looks captured you get to choose which “feels” right after.
In the end my fave outfits are the ones where I am in a casual jeans look which is what I wear every day at home!
OK so I don’t wear a sequin bodysuit everyday at home…
Follow the Golden Brand Photoshoot Rules
The standard rules for Photoshoots apply to bringing in your AstroBrand colours and style:
Jeans and a white shirt will always look stylish
Seriously do not underestimate how stylish your fave pair of jeans and a white t-shirt or shirt will look.
I know it feels almost too simple but it looks amazing every time!
And you can hint at your AstroBrand style with a few well-chosen pieces of Jewellery.
Accessories like jewellery will elevate the pictures
One of the accessories I wanted to wear were these gorgeous feather earrings that I purchased last time I was in Bali along with a Mala (also form Bali) and oversized Turquoise ring and Amethyst & Turquoise cuff. I feel like they really express my sagittarius sun with some hints of Pisces to attract my soul clients.
I also purchased this cute sun and moon headband to bring through hints of my astrology work
Bring through your brand colours
I don’t necessarily suggest overdoing this because as I said above classic clothes are so powerful in brand photos.
That being said selecting brand colours that firstly look great on you, secondly are part of your AstroBrand signature colours and then bringing them in through clothing and accessories will take your website and brand to a whole new level.
I specifically focused on bringing through my terracotta/rose/rust brand colours along with metallics of rose gold and gold as well as some hints of purple.
And have lots of props in your brand colours
Your clothing is not the only way to bring in your brand colours, you can bring them through in beautiful props - like diaries, journals, pens, oracle cards, mugs, flowers etc…
